Amazon Triptych
Sound art with video · 2014 · Dr. George Rivera
The Amazon Triptych is a series of three sound art and video works created from recordings made in the Amazon Rainforest. Each work draws on a distinct sonic dimension of the Amazon — its rivers, its ecology, and the border between wilderness and human presence — composing them into immersive audiovisual experiences.

Amazon Transformation
Video & sound art · 2014 · 4:33
Amazon Transformation documents the sensory experience of the Amazon Rainforest as a living, evolving environment. The work draws on recorded sounds and video footage from within the forest to capture the density and dynamism of the Amazon — its layered acoustic textures, the movement of water, and the presence of unseen life.
Amazon Unrio
Video & sound art · 2014 · 3:30
Amazon Unrio focuses on the river as the central artery of the Amazon ecosystem. Sounds recorded beneath and along the river’s surface are combined with video that follows the water’s movement through the rainforest, creating a portrait of the Amazon as heard from within its own current.
Amazon Border Mix
Video & sound art · 2014 · 4:16
Amazon Border Mix explores the threshold between the Amazon Rainforest and the encroaching forces of deforestation, mining, and land clearing. The work composes sounds from the forest edge — where the wilderness meets human intervention — drawing attention to the ecological crisis unfolding across the Amazon basin.
