2025 Adaptation Displace - Brazil Columbia
is a response to changing conditions in the world. If we do not adapt to changes, we will perish. This applies to individuals and communities. When I conceptualized ADAPTATION, as the theme for our ARTNAUTS exhibition in Manaus, Brazil, the situation in Manaus was dire. There had been an extreme drought in the region, and the Amazon River had greatly receded. Boats that delivered goods to Manaus were anchored far away from shore, and local people had to walk great distances
The ARTNAUTS exhibition at the “Galeria Do CAUA” in Manaus, Brazil, was our artistic effort to draw attention to what was happening in the Amazon. Inhumanity was occurring in this part of the world. We are honored to be part of the creative community in Manaus, where our collaboration with local partners has helped the Artnauts’ rhizome grow through shared experiences and mutual inspiration.
