David Alcantar was born in the border town of Laredo, Texas, on April 14, 1978. At five years old his family moved to San Antonio, Texas. He started his formal art education at SanAntonio College. David transferred to the University ofTexas at Austin where he received his Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) degree. David went to the University of Colorado at Boulder and received his Master of Fine Arts degree (MFA) in drawing and painting. Sincegraduatingfrom Boulder;he has returned to SanAntonio to teach. Recently,he participated in a solo exhibition at Robot Gallery in San Antonio entitled Flight Versus Invisibility (2005). He also was included in a group show called the Napkin Show (2005)
Ricky Armendariz was born and raised in the border town of El Paso,Texas. He attended the University of Texas at El Pasoand later the University ofTexas at San Antonio, where he earned his BFA degree. Ricky earned an MFA in 1999 from the University of Colorado at Boulder and is currently an Assistant Professor in the Department of Art and Art History at the University ofTexas at San Antonio. He has exhibited in a variety of venues both nationally and internationally including Common Wounds which traveled to Bethlehem and Ramalla,Palestine,and SYNAPSISat the GaleriaCorriente Alterna in Lima, Peru, sponsored by the United States Embassy Nationally, he has exhibited at ArtPace and the Blue Star Art Complex in San Antonio, Texas. Nadi Carey was born in Lakewood, Colorado and grew up in Boulder She has lived in Peru, Mexico, Colombia, and Italy. She holds a BFA degree from Metropolitan State College of Denver and an MFA from the University of Colorado at Boulder Nadi has been teachingceramicsand sculpture at Abraham Lincoln High School in Denver for the past seven years.She was recently a recipient of an Outstanding Gold Key Teacher Recognition Award from the Denver Public Schools. Her most recent exhibits include mixed media sculptural works on display at the Denver International Airport, as well as a digital media piece featured in Encuentros, a traveling exhibition
