2009 Dias en la Feria

r. George Rivera is a professor in the Department of Art & Art History at the University of Colorado at Boulder. He is head of the Integrated Arts Area, which focuses on art made utilizing more than one medium and/or necessitates being informed by an additional academic discipline (Sociology, Psychology, Anthropology, Computer Science, Music, etc.). He specializes in digital art and is an expert in Chicano Art and art by racial and ethnic minorities in the United States.

Dr. Rivera is an artist, curator and art critic. He has had numerous exhibitions throughout the world and had exhibitions this year in Brazil, Colombia, Guatemala, Mexico, and Peru. He is a Fulbright Scholar and was awarded the 2002 Governors Award for Excellence in the Arts.

The artwork that is exhibited here is from a series entitled "Milagros." These works were produced from 2005-2009, a period wherein Dr. Rivera went through treatment for prostate cancer, including chemotherapy, hormone therapy and radiation therapy. The artwork contains abstract images that he visualized of his cancer and include "Milagros," which are religious artifacts that are used in Mexican culture to petition God for healing and/or protection.

tevon Lucero has produced an impressive body of work that includes over 1,500 paintings. These paintings are included in the private collections of numerous individuals both famous and otherwise, as well as businesses all over the world. He is much sought after as a lecturer, with many of these lectures being recorded for posterity by various institutions, such as Harvard and Columbia University. Stevon is on a spiritual journey. More than a visual artist, he is in truth,

a philosopher artist. Each painting reflects a metaphor of his own internal dialogue between himself and God. Each piece tells a story, a story in which the ultimate intent and value lies in the future when people will have a greater understanding and appreciation for true spiritual art. Stevon has presented his Metarealism in many one-man shows throughout the United States. In 1996 he was recognized by the Museo de las

Americas in Colorado with a one man show, where he presented more than 58 paintings, called "Stevon Lucero's Metarealism:'

rlette's paintings and sculptures are visual poetic expressions of her emotions, feelings and desires. Using a combination of realism, symbolism and bright colors, she tries to capture the sensual mystery of the concept. Her pieces are illustrations of stories, poems, and personal obsessions.
